The Conservative Approach
- The more conservative approach is to limit immigration for these reasons:
- The possibility they may be taking jobs from Americans
- Yet many didn't have sufficient jobs in their old countries
- The possibility they may be harming our economy by using social services
- Yet they pay taxes
- The possibility they may be a criminal
- Which is why background checks are important
- The possibility they may be taking jobs from Americans
"Illegal" Immigration
- There is even more controversy towards undocumented immigration:
- The possibility they may be harming our economy by not paying taxes
- Many do, and they even have positive effect on our economy, almost $10 billion annually
- The possibility they may be drug trafficking
- This is a generalization, though it can be a concern
- The possibility they may be taking jobs and housing from Americans
- Many didn't have sufficient jobs our housing where they used to live
- The possibility they may be harming our economy by not paying taxes
